"I am who I am today
because God used my mistakes.
He worked them for my good
like no one else ever could
It is necessary" - Fantasia 'Necessary'
There have been times in my life where I never felt good enough. So many mistakes and disappointments, I had no value.
Who am I as a woman when I can't cook?
Who am I as a daughter when I back talk?
Who am I as a friend when I'm not there for you?
Who am I as a lover when I can't give you the love you need?
Who am I as human being if I don't give back?
Who am I as a Christian if I continue to sin?
These questions and many more will always be unanswered.
I’ve realized as a society that we criticize ourselves way too much.
There is no one perfect but God. Yes we should strive to be like Him but he says in Romans 3:23, that we will fall short.
What does that tell you? We are allowed to make mistakes.
Now that doesn’t mean to abuse God's grace but there's no need to be anxious about it every time something goes wrong.
God loves us no what. He forgives and helps us to be better. Without our mistakes, we wouldn’t be where we are.
I have been singing that verse all week and every time, had a praise break. It just amazed me that God knows that I am sinner and YET he loves me. YET, he still provides and YET he still protects.
Throughout all the turmoil in my life, God never abandoned me. No matter how much I cursed him, wished I was never born, wished I never got baptized, wished all these awful things, he was waiting for with open arms.
Everything came full circle to me on Sunday when my Bishop did a sermon on Psalms 66:8-12
Let the whole world bless our God
and loudly sing his praises.
9 Our lives are in his hands,
and he keeps our feet from stumbling.
10 You have tested us, O God;
you have purified us like silver.
11 You captured us in your net
and laid the burden of slavery on our backs.
12 Then you put a leader over us.[a]
We went through fire and flood,
but you brought us to a place of great abundance.
These verses express that God puts us through tests so he can purify us because we are not perfect. We need to pure like silver but until then, we will be put in the fire to remove impurities until God can see himself in us.
God is STILL good!!!
When you think about his goodness and all that he has brought you through, your mistakes don’t matter. All you can do is cry and say thank you Lord.
I know for a fact that without God, I'd be either dead or in jail. He saved me and he can save you too!
He worked all my mistakes for my good. He showed me my divine purpose for his kingdom. Without him, I am nothing but an empty vessel.
The hardships, mountains, tribulations are all for his glory. It is for us to learn how to trust him wholeheartedly. IT IS NECESSARY.
We have to let go of our pride and ego and let God work in us. This thing called life is never easy but God has given his Word as instructions.
Whenever you are going through a tough time and I know this will be difficult but just remember, it is necessary.
You will come out stronger than ever before and pure. Overflowing with God's love and his presences.
It is ok to make mistakes. God still loves you!
